A walk through the illuminated inner-city "Ghent by night" is certainly worth its while ! Indeed many historic buildings and monuments are illuminated each night from sunset to midnight; except for the Three Towers (Saint Nicolas' Church, the Belfry and Saint Bavo's Cathedral) which are illuminated until sunrise. As the Ghent monuments are among the best illuminated in Europe, a nocturnal walk through the heart of the city is certainly strongly advised.

Discos and Nightclubs
Nightclubs with live-shows and live orchestras are mainly to be found around the Zuid Quarter. If you plan a night on the town you might also try the vicinity of the Three Towers, "het Patershol", "de Groentenmarkt", "de Korenmarkt", "het Sint-Baafsplein" and the Sint-Pietersstation.
Students mainly find their entertainment near the Sint-Pietersplein and in the Overpoortstraat.
